Customer Reviews

Great PicksThese picks are of good quality and easy to conform to the shape of your fingers. I bought these for that reason. The stainless steel ones are a little tougher. I like these picks, although, I have found that these picks produce a more muted sound to your strings than the stainless. The stainless give a brighter sound. I tend to use the stainless more often because of that reason. It's all a mater of personal taste. Try them. You want be disappointed.5I've been fingerpicking for decades and these are the best fingerpicks I've ever usedI've been fingerpicking for decades and these are the best fingerpicks I've ever used. You can really project with these picks, but also achieve a very warm sound.5PerfectThese picks are exactly what I needed, they are so comfortable that I forget they are on my fingers and the tone is perfect. I bought only one pack of 4 just incase I didn t like them but now I will buy 2 more packs5SO much better than DunlopI just started learning banjo and so far have tried Dunlop and Ernie Ball Picky Picks and neither of them fit on my fingers correctly, bended correctly to fit, or connected with the strings the right way. They were awkward and hindered my already crappy banjo playing. But the Nationals are GREAT! I love them and love the gold color too. They fit well, are solid, and connect well and consistently with the strings without constantly moving around my fingers or falling off. I still don't know how to play banjo more than in the most rudimentary, basic beginner way, but with these totally Awesome picks maybe someday I actually will be able to. I love these picks!!5They fit and workmy favorite finger pick so far. I haven't wandered into expensive picks yet, but my banjo playing sucks. These seem to mold well to my fingers and not hurt. I hear less string noise with these than the steel picks. Suggest taking time to fit them with some needle nose pliers5Five StarsI got what just what I ordered, at a fair price. I have used the National steel picks over a period of more than 50 years. I think that I like brass better.5Brass Finger Picks Work Very Well For MeThese finger picks are so much nicer to use than the steel ones. They are not as stiff and easier to adjust to your fingers. I don't know about you but my fingers sometimes swell up a bit. These softer metal picks are much easier to adjust without tearing up my fingers. They do have an ever so slightly softer tone to them which I like. It's always interesting to experiment and this is a cheap way to do that.5Best picks I've found.I don't typically write reviews for the stuff I buy on Amazon but I have tried every kind of finger pick imaginable from major brands to boutique varieties looking for picks that would provide great tone, fit well and not fall off during gigs. I'm used to spending some time with needle nosed pliers customizing my finger picks to shape them so that they stay on without being excessively painful. That's the price of playing music! Granted, everyone's fingers are different, but right out of the box the bands on these picks fit perfectly between the contours of my phalanx bones so they are actually comfortable and stay on while playing. The tips sit perfectly where I want them just above my fingers. These are the best picks that I've come across, at least for me.5Good picks.National makes fantastic finger picks. That said brass can and will oxidize and discolor and leave a temporary reminder for you on where you wear your picks. Otherwise these are great and, at least in theory, brass should have less of a wear factor on your strings.4First Finger Picks I Get Along WithI've always had trouble with finger picks. I never could get them to fit my finger properly so they give good tone without getting caught in the strings. I guess that's because I always used steel picks. But these brass picks conform so easily to my fingers that I can shape them just the way I want. As soon as I put them on an adjusted, I was able to use them comfortably on my give-string banjo, my six-strong banjo, and my Backpacker guitar. I'm thrilled!5
